As a kid, I loved reading fantasy books about magical worlds where chores and math homework didn’t exist. My favorite movies involved secret gardens, surprise princesses and magic worlds just through a coat closet. Proposals allow me to live out my secret worlds one session at a time.
Sekrit Theater is a place that feels like “old Austin” to me. It’s crunchy, rusty, a little randomly decorated and totally unique. Which made it a perfect location for a surprise proposal, or, a “private wine tasting” which is what Cheyenne had heard from her friends. Trevor really surprised her by having their friends decorate the place with rose petals, candles and a light up “Marry Me” sign.
Sekrit Theater proposals are some of the most unique in Austin. You can really DIY with decorations and the photos are gorgeous year round, as you can see. To have your proposal at Sekrit Theater proposal: reserve a specific time through the booking calendar, hire a proposal planner, or use friends/family to decorate and style the place in a romantic way.
I recommend lights, candles, pictures, and champagne are all good ideas.
If you’re considering a proposal in Austin and want a quiet, super chill place to propose, I definitely recommend Sekrit Theater. I answer tons of questions about how to propose, what to expect, and more here on my Austin Proposal Photographer FAQ page
