Why hire a professional photographer?
Hiring a professional proposal photographer to capture the moment shows your commitment to the start of this new chapter in your relationship.
In 2019 alone I photographed 16 proposals and consider myself the Austin proposal photography expert. From your initial inquiry to after she says "yes!" I'll make sure you get the best photos.
Booking a photographer should be the least amount of stress.
How do I hire you for my proposal?
First step - pick a date. Then, plan a special day for your partner - something that spoils them and gives them a chance to get dressed up. Surprise them after a day of pampering with a special proposal at sunset where you've hired a photographer (me) to take the photos.
Depending on the location, whether you've chosen a park or a rooftop downtown, I can either be hiding in plain sight or introduce myself as a professional photographer hired for a photo shoot. In public places it can be easier to do it that way.
Proposals outside are held during the last 2 hours of the day for the best light - called golden hour.
What happens after I pop the question?
After you pop the question and the tears have stopped flowing, we'll grab just a few portraits to celebrate the brand new engagement!
I'll pose and direct you in good light and amazing backdrops for portraits that you'll want to print and incorporate in your engagement story. Make sure you and your partner dress sharp!
An online gallery with high res, edited files is always included.

FAQS
What happens if it's raining?
Fortunately, Austin isn't a very rainy city, and whenever it does rain, it usually passes quickly. Most proposal locations can be altered to be under an overhang, inside or just outside with umbrellas and we just roll with the punches.
What should I wear to my Austin proposal?
Austin is a fairly casual town, but depending on the location you choose, you could have the chance to dress up super nice.
Clothing should be of the same formality and accent the location. Meaning, it's hard to make sense of someone dressed in sneakers with someone in formal attire at a park. Consider dressing up a little extra in whatever way is comfortable for you two. If your partner is a bougie or wants to be fancy, choose a location that matches this!
What can I expect from working with you?
Proposals with me are simple and smooth. Over emails, I'll guide you towards a good spot and even offer a few scenario/cover stories to tell your partner.
In large public areas like parks, nature centers, art museums, etc.you run the risk of someone walking in front of us potentially ruining the photos. In this case, I highly recommend having an exact location pre-planned and set up or hiring a planner to take the decorating and logistics off your hands. I can make recommendations, just ask!
After I capture the moment she said yes (or just lots of crying and nodding), we'll move into a few cute, casual portraits. A mini, mini engagement session if you will. I'll pose, direct, laugh with you, and hustle my booty off (potentially tripping on things) to show off the new bling and a couple of photos with your friends & family if they're joining!
In total, we spend around 30-60 minutes together during the proposal itself. Not to mention the countless back and forth with all the planning and strategizing!
Why should I hire you?
You can exchange or return an engagement ring but at the end of the day, we can't recreate this exact moment. Choose a photographer whose images speak to you with excellent reviews.
I've photographed over 40 proposals and through rain, sun or night I've always delivered amazing work. You'll want someone who has experience in any situation and can properly capture the moment with ease.
If that's me, great! If not, I hope you find your photographer and are happy with the quality of their work.
Can you recommend someone to help set up decor?
I would be happy to send you a list of planners who specialize in proposals and small affairs. They would be happy to talk about adding candles, flowers and champagne to make the moment super special for your significant other.
I have another question!
Let me know what you're still wondering when you fill out the contact form below and I'll see if I can answer it!
Are you ready to work together?
Send me an email with what you’re thinking in terms of location and cover story and I’ll check my calendar. I’ll reply with my ideas and availability and any suggestions if needed.
When you’re mid-planning, consider that my weekend dates fill up first with weddings, and fast with other proposals, so please consider choosing a Thursday or Friday instead!
Proposal prices are $550+ tax – they are usually around 60 minutes and include high resolution files delivered via online gallery.
READY TO BOOK YOUR PROPOSAL?
Proposal prices are $550 and always include high res, digital files that are fully edited and color corrected. I can only take 1 "golden hour" proposal per day, so if you're flexible on dates let me know! Fill out the contact form and let me know what you've got planned. I can't wait to read your email! xoxo
