Fall weddings in Austin have their own kind of magic — finally crisp air, golden light, and a quiet shift into deeper tones. This wedding at Sanctuary Event Space, tucked into the heart of Austin, perfectly captured that transitional beauty. With vibrant jewel-toned details, emotional moments, and a focus on candid storytelling, it was a dream to document.

Kari and Dan had a cozy, candid wedding last fall with jewel tone flowers and a laid back attitude towards the day. We started off with a little bit of getting ready pictures for both the bride and groom. Dan’s green suit was so fun and different! I am a huge fan of photographing the getting ready since we get so many candids from the day!!

Kari’s sister dabs her under the eye to avoid any mascara smears pre-ceremony.
The getting ready space at the Sanctuary Event Space in Austin, Texas is large, spacious and away from all the guests’ curious looks!

Kari’s Mother in Law looks on, happily.

One of my favorite parts of this wedding was how emotional it felt. There were tears during the vows, quiet hand squeezes, and unspoken looks exchanged throughout the day. These are the moments I live for as a documentary wedding photographer — the unscripted ones that tell the real story.

The reception was filled with warmth, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos — the best kind. String lights, heartfelt toasts, and a packed dance floor made for a night that felt genuine and grounded in love.

Kari and Dan decided to do an exit with me when my time ended so they could stay behind to party with their friends

Thanks to all the vendors involved in making Kari & Dan’s day exactly how they envisioned:
Root Cellar Catering, Lux Beauty and Bridal, Bluebird Bridal, Texas Sun Music (acoustic guitar duo)
