When Morgan contacted me in January about shooting her Houston 4th of July weekend wedding, I knew I was in for some fun.
I remembered Morgan vaguely from our childhoods spent hiding and drawing under the back counter extra crawl area at her dad’s black and white photo lab in Dallas. We were such crazy little kids. Both of us have grown up so much and so much has happend in our lives since then. Next to the spectacular lace dress trend that’s happening, pockets are my next favorite thing. Boy did Morgan do me proud and chose an ADORABLE pleated strapless dress with pockets and even the champagne colored bridesmaids dresses had pockets! Her focus was mostly on her guests enjoying themselves and creating lifelong memories, rather than worrying about all the decoration details. Simple hand written seating cards with names of local as well as foreign cities and a yellow and white bouquet arrangement really echoed the simplicity.
The ceremony at Christ the King Presbyterian was simple and sweet and beautiful to watch her brother walk her down the aisle as her father had passed away a few years earlier. After, you’ll see her tear up a bit walking back with her newly minted husband.
The reception was one of the craziest I’ve been to (and I’ve been to quite a few!) Imagine about 50 people on that tiny dance floor at Rainbow Lodge just tearing it up! John’s best man deserves an award for most heartfelt wedding toast ever, and to the guest who asked me how I would rate this wedding on a scale of 1 to 10, I would still rate it a 10 :). Below you’ll see hilarious University of Texas alumni friends, crazy kiddos, and lots of laughter. I had an absolute blast being there and I have many, many thanks to give to Morgan for hiring me! Enjoy the photos!
Morgan’s dad passed away a few years ago and to walk her down the aisle was her brother — so sweet.
Thanks to all the amazing vendors who made this wedding possible!
