Some weddings are just perfect for the day on which they are held. This was one of them. I assisted my good friend Elissa in this May daytime San Antonio wedding at La Fonda on Main. The thing with second shooting, or seconding, as we photographers call it- is it’s not my responsibility to ensure I take all the photos that safely tell the story of the day. I might be missing some individual portraits of the bride and groom because I was in charge of taking photos of the guests mingling and telling stories before and after the ceremony. I usually get to practice unusual angles that I may not try as the primary, or spend more time taking details since the main photographer might be busy with family formals.
For this sweet couple- the weather was warm with a slight breeze just to take the edge off the sunshine’s warmth. These two smiled (and with a few tears) and joined their lives surrounded by family and friends new and old. Cupcakes by Kate, mexican food catered in house and a Mariachi band round out the bill. Flowers by Central Market’s floral department.
