This Austin skyline proposal at the Long Center was beautifully simple. Winter in Austin is so pretty and deeply underappreciated. The air is finally crispy and cool and golden light streams across the downtown from the view at the Long Center patio.
When Jared was scouting locations in Austin, nothing felt quite right until he saw the Long Center. As it turns out, that spot held special meaning for him and Michelle. It was the site of one of their early dates and felt like the perfect place for this moment.

From Hinge to Happily Ever After
Sixteen months after their first date, Jared brought it full circle.
While Michelle was probably expecting this proposal to happen soon, the exact moment it happened was still a total surprise.

Post-proposal Engagement Photos at the Long Center
Sunset at the Long Center in the winter is soooo golden and orange-y it really makes some beautiful post-proposal engagement photos. We take just a few to celebrate the good light and concentrate on the ring. One of my favorite things to do is find fun ways to take creative ring photos and seeing what styles everyone chooses!

From the proposal at the Long Center, to surprise dinner at Aba
Just after Michelle said yes, Jared planned for us to continue the celebration with photos at the surprise dinner at Aba on South Congress. Friends and family gathered at the long dining table on the back patio under the string lights, eagerly chatting and waiting for our guests of honor to arrive soon!

Before the dinner service began, a quick group photo with everyone invited was needed! It was such a joy to photograph both the surprise proposal and after party dinner for Jared + Michelle.
