Brook & Brennan didn’t let COVID completely stop them from ~getting hitched~. Thankfully since they already had a restaurant elopement planned, all we had to do was pick a new date for when things opened up again. This was my first wedding back since COVID shut down all the restaurants in Austin and I was grateful to be back photographing this Austin elopement, even if it meant keeping more distance and wearing a mask.
Brook got dressed and we did their first look at the gorgeous Austin Proper Hotel which is a beautiful new hotel in downtown. This was my first time there but I loved it! Everyone should check that place out for weddings or just cocktails because that bar looks COOL. Blush ‘n bangs rocked Brook’s sweet updo and simple summer makeup that really stayed put through the sweat and heat from the day. Brook’s colorful, bold, summer and detailed bouquet is from Texas Blooms here in Austin.
After we did the first look with Brennan, we walked across the bridge to the new Central Library, stopping along the way wherever the light looked good.
This is the benefit to having a few extra hours and no wedding party. Epic amount of FUN portrait time. Brook & Brennan were such troopers dealing with the heat! When we were beat and needed air conditioning we stopped and headed to the ceremony site. Rosewood helped set up a little area off to the side for the ceremony site and just as we got started, a few clouds rolled in making the sunset incredibly epic.
This Austin restaurant elopement was so much fun, I absolutely loved getting to know Brook, Brennan and their small families that joined. If you’re thinking about eloping in Austin, I’d love to hear from you!
