I love the Long Center for its expansive patio, beautiful colored windows and panoramic views of downtown Austin.

The Long Center is a perfect place for an Austin skyline proposal since it’s just on the other side of the river, away from the runners and dog park and has lots of places for your family to hide and surprise your new beau.

Michael and Emily met me at 8am on a sunny summer morning for a photoshoot with their dog. I always do sunrise shoots in the summer, since 106 and sweating isn’t exactly romantic for your partner.

They were sweethearts all throughout college, now that they had graduated, it was time to start their forever lives together. Whenever I do proposals, I walk my clients through exactly when to arrive, where to stand and how to do the actual proposal. In the case with Michael & Emily, I knew both he and I wanted to see the skyline during the proposal so I coached him ahead of time to achieve this! It’s a complicated dance and we all have to make sure we’re prepared!
