Portrait session tips and tricks

Graduation Portraits:

A fun session that’s all about you and your accomplishments! We will have a blast and you won’t believe how good you look.

We usually hold the sessions on Sunday since that’s when most of the good shooting locations will be empty and there won’t be any random people in the background of your photos.

Texas weather can be fickle, so in the off chance that it does rain we can re-schedule one time at no extra cost. The session takes place about 1 and a half hours before sunset to get the perfect “golden hour” light that really flatters you and looks good in pictures and it also includes 1 outfit change of your choice. I usually suggest one outfit being nicer than the other… sometimes I like to call it the “cute dinner and a movie outfit” and a “meet the parents on a Sunday” type. But most importantly, dress in what makes you feel like a rockstar and complements your personality. The same goes for how much makeup to wear.
When choosing your makeup, make sure to avoid any shimmery powder or highlighting concealer around the eyes so you don’t have the dreaded sunglasses-tan, opposite raccoon eye look. Use your best judgement and if you don’t feel confident in doing it yourself, try going to the makeup counters or stopping by Sephora and ask for a “natural but enhanced look.” Most makeup artists will know what you’re talking about when you say that.
After the session, the images will be ready in about 2-3 weeks in an online gallery where you and your family can see 40-60 images that i’ve chosen and that are fully edited and cropped.  From there you can order professional quality prints that are able to be printed up to as big as you want. However,  for sizes bigger than 8×10″, let me know which ones you want so I can double check everything looks perfect before it gets big! If you want to have a meeting where we go over the images and pick through the gallery together, I would be more than happy to do that at no charge.
If that all sounds like fun, definitely fill out the contact form here and let’s set up a meeting!
