Caitlin McWeeney

Hey there! I’m Caitlin and I think it’s so great you stopped by my site. Weddings and love are two of my most favorite things in the world to experience. There’s nothing quite like them. I’m a fan of all things mid century modern, the oxford comma, and I think John Mayer is ridiculously good looking. Have a look around the site at all the people and things I have been lucky enough to point my camera towards. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more and get together for coffee or tea!

Elizabeth | Texas State Graduation portraits 2011

November 30th, 2011

I absolutely love shooting portraits of college seniors because the excitement of moving onto the real world and leaving what was your insular college bubble for 4 or 5 years is practically tangible. I remember the stress of finishing all my photo projects and studying for my Media Law final exam, all while trying to plan for the 15 minutes where I walked across the stage at Strahan Coliseum at Texas State, shook the Chancellor’s hand and tried my best not to trip in heels.

Elizabeth is graduating in December with her degree in Criminal Law. We spent a lovely San Marcos afternoon walking and talking about senior year and the plans she has for the future. Good luck, Elizabeth! I wish you well.

Major props post of 2011

November 17th, 2011

It’s been a long and hot summer and now that fall is somewhat here in Austin, it’s time to show off some more wedding work that I’ve been sitting on. I have been incredibly lucky enough to second shoot for some fantastic people this past year. So I decided to share with you all just a few of my favorites rather than making full blog posts out of them. Major props go to Elissa (elissarphotography.com) for being my number 1 go-to gal when it comes to second shooting. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me thus far. I look forward to 2012! The photographers in this post who were gracious enough to allow me to second shoot are:

1.) Sam at Sunny 16 Photography (http://www.sunny16photos.com/)

I was completely honored to shoot with Sam at this wedding. It was awesome to see how someone who produces such amazing photos actually works at a wedding. Sam is true talent and skill and the couple from this Inn at Wild Rose Hall wedding were so lucky to have him.

2.) Brittany Dawson Photography

My first time visiting LaGrange was seconding for Ms. Dawson (now Mrs. Kerr!). Super sweet down-home wedding with lots of fun people.

3.) My number one gal.. Elissa. This was from a crazy fun Hallowedding up in Plano on Halloween weekend! (Thus the Hallowedding.. get it??) This was the first time I had the opportunity to test out my posing of large bridal party groups since most of the weddings I second shoot are smaller with maybe 3 groomsmen and 4 bridesmaids. And of course, a Halloween wedding wouldn’t be complete without the B&G and the whole bridal party changing into zombie attire for a fully choreographed Thriller dance!

And this is why I love being a second shooter. I went outside and found Jesus, a slice of pizza, and a Dallas Cowboy all hanging out together.

Of course, I will have more to show you guys in a month or so. Stay tuned for more wedding goodness!

xoxo

Shauna | Texas State Graduate 2011

November 16th, 2011

The leaves are falling and the days are getting shorter. Texas State Fall graduation is almost upon us in San Marcos! I couldn’t have asked for better weather when photographing Shauna’s graduation portraits. Sunny and breezy with a mid 80′s high; a Texas fall for sure. Shauna is graduating with a degree in psychology next month and she was a super fun gal to work with and I am so glad she hired me for her portraits. I loved our Beyoncé/ANTM impressions, Shauna! Congratulations Shauna, you’ll do great.
